1/26/10 -- We received about 9-12 inches of snow, depending upon where you are at along the Gunflint Trail.  The Cook County Ridge Rider Snowmobile club has been working hard on all of the trails this season.  This fresh snow is going to give the trails what they need to get groomed to perfection.  Fishing reports have been scattered but success has been steady overall.  Some nice lake trout and walleyes have been taken in area lakes.  The weather is beautiful -5 this morning and currently a slight breeze out of the south west and 3 above.

We rent snowmobiles at Hungry Jack Lodge snowmobile and ice fishing resort.  So, if you've never been on a "sled" and want to try snowmobiling, come on up and enjoy one of the  snowmobile rentals  that are available for the  Grand Marais, Gunflint Snowmobile Trail system.  

Hungry Jack Lodge and Campground resort is off the Gunflint Trail, adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area ((BWCAW) and is the only resort on Hungry Jack Lake in the heart of the six million acre Superior National Forest.

Lakeside cabin, log cabin and cottage rentals are available during the summer, fall and winter seasons of the year at our Minnesota family resort. Summer activities at our Minnesota family resort include superb fishing, canoeing, hiking, camping and much much more.  Access to the Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA) can be made by canoe directly from Hungry Jack Lake with only one very short portage.  Hungry Jack Lake is considered one of the best MN walleye fishing hotspots and has 8 1/2 miles of shoreline. Boat, canoe and pontoon boat rentals are available at our Gunflint Trail, Minnesota family resort during the summer.
