Snowmobile Drag Racing on Hungry Jack Lake & D’Merritt in the Logger’s Lounge
Saturday February 18th at Hungry Jack Lodge
Cool Crisp Morning Today!
2 riders heading out to hit the trails early.
It is a bit chilly out this morning. I had -14 here a little while ago. The sun is out and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. We did have some snow showers yesterday and we did end up getting about an inch or so of fluff. It isn’t much but every little bit counts. Snow levels haven’t changed much other than the dusting we got last night. The groomers have been out this week and are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Trails are still very ride able. Reports from riders have overall been pretty good. The expressway and the majority of the Gunflint Trail has been in pretty good condition. I have had several riders that have rode towards Grand Portage and the reports were good except the last little bit getting to the gas station was the worst part. I did have a group that rode to the Trestle Inn yesterday and they said the state trail was pretty good up to the Lutsen/Tofte area along the state trail.
That is all for now. Think Snow everybody!!!!!!!
Snow Report – 2/08/12
Well things have definitely cooled off after the warm weather we were having last week and weekend. The snow is still hanging in there. We have had riders through every day this week and overall reports of the trails are still pretty good considering the conditions. The groomers have been out grooming trying to get things back into shape after all of the warm weather and traffic last weekend. We could definitely use more snow but things are still very ride able. We have not had any fresh snow since early last week. The current temp is 10 above and the sun is high in the sky.
